Sightseeing
The center of Vienna, the City, is to explore on foot without problems, but also a special tram for tourists, the so-called "Vienna Ring Tram" or the traditional carriage invite you too. The imperial atmosphere can be felt in Vienna as before, by the imposing palaces, representative government offices and churches elaborately landscaped noticeable. Also, the Belvedere Palace is an absolute highlight.
In the middle of the city, in the Hofburg, where as you would never expect it, there are also stables and a riding hall of the historic Spanish Riding School of Vienna. Demonstrations of the unique lippizzaner should belong to a fixed point of your sightseeing.
The “Schloss Schönbrunn” or the Imperial Hofburg impressions of Sisi and Emperor Franz can be collected with your traditional family history. Follow the footsteps of the Habsburgs by the Schonbrunn Palace Garden to the Gloriette and enjoy with a good Viennese coffee the stunning views over the castle and the city.
In the park of Schönbrunn Palace is the oldest zoo in the world, the “Schönbrunn Zoo”. This is not only a real attraction for children, with its architectural design, which combines historical with modern facilities for the animals, it even has its appeal for adults. In the vicinity also invite the Palm House and the butterfly house on an adventure trip that stays securely in your memory.
But Vienna is also a world capital of music. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn established the style of Viennese Classicism. By Ludwig van Beethoven, this world-famous and much-loved genre continued to develop through to the romance. The famous Viennese waltz and the Radetzky March we mainly due to the 1804-born Johann Baptist Strauss. Became world-famous Vienna but also the reputation of the Vienna State Opera and the skill of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna Boys' Choir (“Wiener Sängerknaben”), continues to provide the international furore.
A big contrast offers the VIC, the Vienna International Centre. Among the Viennese better known as UNO City, it marks the cityscape of today's Danube City. Approx. 25 international organizations such as OPEC have their headquarters in Vienna.
In the middle of the city famous modern buildings can also be found such as the “Haas Haus”, or the “Hundertwasser House”.
We recommend strengthening during a city tour to the excellent Viennese cuisine. Due to the historically strong Hungarian and Bohemian character is especially tempting, especially the world of sweet sins. The Viennese cuisine has more to offer than “Wiener Schnitzel” and pancakes and is hugely popular not only among the local population. Old Viennese wine taverns and public houses are worth a visit, not to mention the Swiss house in the Prater. The team of the “Pension Kasper” would like to help you to compose your own sightseeing-tour. Just ask at the front desk. We as born Viennese always have helpful tips for you ready. Even in the choice of restaurants we can help, because in the metropolis Vienna specialties of course you do not get everywhere at a bargain price and should rather stick to the local suburbs. This just provides the location of the Pension Kasper numerous ways to cheap and good food.
